Dark Eyes

The years have etched their passing onto the corners of your eyes. They had hoped to remind you of them every time you smiled, even though they're long gone now. Your past must have been bright, as is shown every time your eyes flash with amusement. Your joy always leads to my happiness, your sadness to mine. Is it wrong for me to love you when you have a love of your own? If it is, I don't mind, for being in your presence is enough to warm my frigid thoughts. Maybe one of these days I will mean enough to you that my name will be added to the history book written in the corner of your dark, laughing eyes.
